Press Release

Not You In 2002 - Drive to Stay Alive Campaign April 2002

The campaign was kicked-off by Sheriff Brown at press conferences covered by local TV and print media, starting with the county's high schools. With prom season and graduation just around the corner, the Sheriff is raising awareness on the importance of seatbelt usage and driver safety.

High school students were interviewed and given the opportunity to voice their opinion on the Virginia seatbelt laws.

Deputies were on-hand in the parking lots to remind students and faculty to "buckle up" and drive safely.

Deputies will be conducting safety checks throughout the summer enforcing child safety seat and driver/passenger seatbelt laws. Sheriff Brown says, "Click it or ticket. No exceptions, no excuses".
