Blue Ridge Thunder, ICAC Task Force, Bedford County Sheriff's Office, Bedford, Virginia

On August 15, 2002, Investigators from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and Blue Ridge Thunder, (an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force), arrested Mr. Paul Eric Daniel. During the course of an undercover operation, Daniel, a Restaurant manager, communicated with investigators online. On August 15, 2002, Daniel traveled from his home in Cary North Carolina to meet with the "13 year old female" he was communicating with online. Upon arrival in the area, Garner rented a room in a nearby motel and contacted the intended victim. Upon arrival at the arranged meeting place he was greeted instead by Investigators.

Daniel was interviewed and sub sequentially charged with the "use of a communication device to facilitate certain offences against a minor" and held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond. Federal charges are being reviewed.
