BRT Task Force at 2002 Prince William County Fair

Blue Ridge Thunder Task Force in conjunction with the Safe Surfin Foundation, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Net Smartz. org. exhibits at the 2002 Prince William County Fair.

BRT distributed 1750 coloring books, 2200 Internet Guidelines for Parents, new BRT and NetSmartz brochures to children and parents over the 9 day fair in Prince William County. The PWC Fair, one of the largest in the State of Virginia draws 85,000 to 95,000 in attendance every year. People came from as far south as Richmond, Va. and as far West as West Virginia to attend the fair this year. This year BRT held a raffle for a new Compaq Computer System with Printer and raised over $500.00 to help cover the cost of education materials.

The winning ticket, drawn by a PWC Fair official Charlie Young, was purchased by Peggy Byrnes, Midland Virginia. BRT has been invited back for the 2003 Fair. Parents from all over the area commented favorably on BRT's presence at the Fair and felt the materials provided were informative and helped them better understand the issues surrounding Internet Safety for Children.
