Investigator Robertson Named Deputy of the Month

Sheriff Mike Brown has selected investigator Wendy Robertson of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office as Deputy of the Month for a series of cases in which she performed exceptionally.

Inv. Robertson was assigned to an alleged rape case. Over a several day period with interviews with the victim, the suspect and several witnesses, she was able to determine that it was in fact, consentual sex, not a rape.

In an unrelated case, Robertson was called to a scene where a subject was threatening to kill any officer who tried to approach him and threatened to take his own life. Inv. Robertson, using her negotiation skills was able to talk the subject out of the woods and defuse this potentially dangerous situation.

The confessions of two individuals obtained by Robertson led to the resolve of two breaking-and-entering cases. Both were arrested and charged with the thefts, which netted several thousands of dollars worth of stolen property.
