Deputy Kevin Hatcher Name Deputy of the Month

Bedford, VA – Bedford County Sheriff’s Office named Deputy Kevin Hatcher Deputy of the Month for his outstanding efforts and going above and beyond the call of duty.

When a fight broke out in Bedford City, Deputy Hatcher immediately responded from his home to help his counterparts, Bedford City Police, even though he was off duty at the time.

Later in the same month, a friend and coworker was the victim of domestic violence. Hatcher accompanied the victim to the hospital and waiting until released at 5:00 am. He and his wife, concerned for the safety of this family, immediately made room for the victim and her small child in their home. The victim was safe at the Hatcher household for the weekend until the perpetrator could go before judge on Monday morning.

Deputy Hatcher exemplifies the fine moral character that this Sheriff’s Office strives to maintain. Hatcher is also an exceptional and positive role model for the students of Liberty High School where he serves as full-time School Resource Officer.
