Sheriff Brown Names Cpl. Wimmer Deputy of the Month

Bedford , VA – Sheriff Mike Brown announced the appointment of Cpl. Chris Wimmer as Deputy of Month.

Cpl. Wimmer has gone above and beyond the call of duty on numerous occasions and has been key in arresting criminals who pose continued danger to Bedford and its residents.

Wimmer is one of five K-9 officers in the agency. With his partner, Mack, they have assisted other deputies during traffic stops, locating drugs hidden in vehicles, tracking a person who was hiding and had promised to commit suicide and overtook a drunk driver who was transporting a three year old child in the vehicle.

“Cpl. Wimmer is quick-acting, thorough, and very perceptive while on patrol.,” says Sheriff Brown. “He and Mack make a great team that the citizens of Bedford County should be proud of.”

Cpl Wimmer was nominated for his committed to excellence by Road Sgt. Steve Brooks.
