Press Release
Deputy Boswell Named Deputy of the Month
Bedford, VA - Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown is pleased to name Deputy Richard Boswell as Deputy of the Month for his quick action which netted the apprehension of suspects.
Deputy Boswell responded to an alarm at the Boonsboro Elementary School. He immediately noticed forced entry and damage done to the inside of the school. Boswell quickly searched the school and was able to apprehend a total of five suspects. Some were still in the building; some were racing to get away outside.
“Deputies get calls for alarms everyday and all hours of the night.” states Sheriff Brown. “More often than not, these calls are false alarms. This is a shining example that shows Deputies do not second-guess a call, they respond to all alarms with the utmost urgency. Boswell acted quickly and was able to apprehend the individuals who caused this senseless destruction to this school.” , says the Sheriff, “A job well done.”
Deputy Boswell has been with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office since 1997.
