Department of Justice: National Pegasus System Testing Bedford, Campbell Counties, VA
Bedford, VA – Sheriff Mike Brown, (Bedford Co.) and Sheriff Terry Gaddy, (Campbell Co.), will welcome members of the U.S. Department of Justice Review Team, as they assess the performance of the Pegasus Program and how it has been utilized by Bedford and Campbell Counties over the last 8 months.
Bedford and Campbell Sheriff’s Offices are the only Virginia law enforcement agencies and are among a select few in the country, to test this highly secure, Local-To-Local law enforcement information exchange program.
Sheriff Brown Said: “I am honored to be a part of this critical effort involving this nationwide homeland security effort that will provide secure access to local law enforcement databases not otherwise available elsewhere.” Sheriff Brown added; “I am proud to say that the Bedford County and Campbell County Sheriff’s Offices are out front on an initiative that is destined to be a benchmark for homeland security.”
Sheriffs Brown and Gaddy along with Department of Justice members and Dr. Lee Colwell, President of the Pegasus Research Foundation, will be available for interviews and comments:
