BCSO’s Ricky Gardner Promoted

Bedford, VA - Sheriff Michael Brown is pleased to announce the promotion of Captain Ricky Gardner to the rank of Major and Chief Deputy.

The County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of this promotion based on the formal request submitted by Sheriff Brown, during the January 23rd regular meeting held at the County Administration building.

Gardner, who has been with the Sheriff’s office since 1979, “has a celebrated career in law enforcement and continues to be a fine representation of professionalism and dedication to this community” said Brown. “Gardner’s years of experience are invaluable to this agency and to the citizens of Bedford County”.

Sheriff Brown expressed his complete confidence in Major Gardner’s abilities and his continued dedication to law enforcement. “I am so pleased that The Board showed their complete support by collectively approving this well-deserved promotion” Brown said.

Major Gardner’s promotion takes effect immediately.
