Bedford County Sheriff’s Office
1345 Falling Creek Road

Sgt. David Marsh, heading up this project for BCSO, is raising public awareness on the importance of proper driver training, especially for our young drivers who are just learning. “Over correcting is the most prevalent cause of our teen crashes and fatalities”, says Marsh, “mainly because they never have the chance to experience the feeling of losing control in a safe environment and learning how to properly regain that control.”
“Thanks to the generosity of Bedford Automotive who recently donated a 2003 Chevy Impala for use as the SkidCar, Bedford County is well on it’s way to offer the safest and most technologically advanced driver training available on the market”, says Sheriff Mike Brown. “Utilizing this technology is our best means of reducing the high rate of teen injuries and fatalities in Bedford County”.
The Media is encourage to cover this demonstration as funding is still being sought to get the project completed for utilization throughout the county.
