Bedford County Sheriff Michael J.
Brown is urging all Bedford County Citizens to continue to maintain
their vigilance with regard to possible terrorism activities.
Within minutes of the September
2001 terrorist attack on the United States, The Bedford County
Sheriff’s Office was involved in the protection of strategic sites
in Bedford County, and has maintained a pro-active stance ever
since.
Sheriff Brown asks all citizens to
visit, or re-visit, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office website
(www.bedfordsheriff.org) to review the information provided. This
includes the DHS Terrorism Alert link, as well as the Department’s
C.A.T. Eyes Program which is found under the PROGRAMS link.
Sheriff Brown said, “It is vital
that all citizens be aware of the potential threat, and be prepared
to report any of the unusual situations which may ‘tip off’
potential terrorist activities.”
The Sheriff concluded his recent
remarks by saying, “We have the resources to make groups of citizens
aware of this important topic…the information on our website tells
how to get this assistance. There is no substitute for vigilance in
this matter!”
