At 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 7th, 2007,
interdiction units of the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and
Virginia State police, arrested Jack C. Stinespring at 2537 Lipscomb
Road in Moneta, Virginia.
Stinespring, a white male, age 40 (See photograph below) was
charged with Felony manufacturing and possession with intent to
distribute marijuana, after officers found a large number of mature
marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia (a hydro lighting system for
indoor grow operations).
In order to protect the plants from insect infestation, the
plants had been treated with Savin insect repellant. The approximate
street value of the plants seized was estimated to be $9,000.00.
After his arrest, the subject was taken before a Magistrate and
released on $7,500.00 unsecured bond. A trial date has not yet been
set.
Sheriff Brown assisted the Sheriff's Department Investigative
Division's Commander, Captain Mike Miller, in the unloading of the
plants at the Departments facility. The Sheriff commended the unit's
personnel for developing the intelligence to affect the seizure and
arrest, and expressed his Departments appreciation to the Virginia
State Police, for their assistance.
