Press Release
BCSO Investigators Aid Social
Services…11 Year Sentence the Result!
As a result of evidence developed by Bedford County Sheriff’s Office
Investigators, working with Social Services, Chuck Lightfoot, an
Evington man who molested a teenage girl--he also supplied with
drugs--was sentenced to 11 years in prison on August 14th.
Lightfoot entered Alford pleas to 13 felony charges, in which he maintained his innocence but admitted there was enough evidence to contact him.
The charges against Lightfoot arose as a result of meetings between he
and the girl--now 16 years of age--in 2006 and 2007. Lightfoot bought
the girls various items such as a cell phone, and gave the girl alcohol,
cocaine and marijuana, according to acting Deputy Commonwealth Attorney,
Wes Nance.
Lightfoot was arrested in February after he gave drugs to the girl and an undercover Bedford County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown commended his investigative staff for the speedy and professional techniques they utilized to develop the
Evidence which resulted in the removal of Mr. Lightfoot from the streets for 11 years.
The Sheriff’s Office expresses its appreciation to Aaron Lee and the Lynchburg News-Advance, for preparation of information used in this story. His story appeared in the August 15th edition of the paper. |
