Bedford County Man Charged with Injuring
Toddler
A Hardy man is behind bars today on charges he
severely injured a toddler, according to Maj.
Ricky Gardner of the Bedford County Sheriff’s
Office.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s
office, Robert Lewis Evans, 23, of the 11600
block of Hardy Road was charged Thursday with
felony malicious wounding of his girlfriend’s
17-month-old child.
The sheriff’s office was contacted by the Carilion
Roanoke Community Hospital Wednesday with a report
that the woman had brought the child there with
severe head injuries.
Evans is being held in the Bedford Blue Ridge
Regional Jail without bond.
