Former teacher under investigation is charged

 

ARRESTED - David Allen Cherry, aged 38, Forest VAFOREST, VA - Bedford County Sheriff's Office investigators received a complaint on October 1, 2007, of possible improper conduct by a former teacher towards a former student at Staunton River High School.  

Bedford County Sheriff's investigators along with Bedford County Social Services Child Protective investigators and officials with the Bedford County School System investigated the complaint.  

After a lengthy investigation, David Allen Cherry, age 38, 1324 Oak Lawn Drive, Forest, Va., was arrested on January 8, 2008 and charged with three counts of sodomy and one count of indecent liberties with a minor. The incidents allegedly occurred during the fall of 2005. The investigation is still on-going.  

Cherry is currently out of jail on a $25000.00 bond.
