ABC Managers Indicted Following Investigation

 

BEDFORD, VA - The Bedford County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted a five month long joint investigation involving criminal charges against designated managers of ABC licensed businesses in Bedford County. The investigation led to numerous criminal indictments against ABC managers at the Sky Mart Store located at 7865 Jordontown Road, Vinton Va. and the Wakefield Inn located at 10190 Stewartsville Road, Vinton, Va. As a result of this investigation the owner of the Wakefield Inn has surrendered his ABC license and closed for business.

On January 25, 2008, a Bedford County Special Grand Jury handed down 19 indictments on eight individuals for distribution of narcotics and related offences and was arrested between Thursday January 31 and Saturday February 2, 2008.

Jamie Sue Wheeler Jamie Sue Wheeler, age 41, 2468 Hendricks Store Road, Moneta was indicted on six counts of distribution of Cocaine.  Out on bond.
Reggie Lee Jones Reggie Lee Jones, age 20, 1153 Ballard Circle, Moneta, Va. was indicted on three counts of distribution of cocaine.   Out on bond.
Joshua Dale Spangler  Joshua Dale Spangler, age 32, 100 Wood Cleft Circle, Huddleston, Va. was indicted on one count of distribution of cocaine.  Out on bond.
Rex Allen Bennett  Rex Allen Bennett, age 34, 1379 Scruggs Road, Wirtz, Va. was indicted one count of distribution of cocaine. Held on $50,000 bond in B.R.R.J. in Bedford.
Avery Frank Anderson  Avery Frank Anderson, age 45, 1242 Bills Road, Bedford, Va. was indicted on one count of distribution of cocaine in a school zone (Liberty High School) and one count of distribution of cocaine. Out on bond.
Phyllis Regina Bryant  Phyllis Regina Bryant, age 42, 1244 Centerville Road, Bedford, Va. was indicted on three counts of distribution of cocaine in a school zone (Liberty High School) and three counts of distribution on cocaine. Held in BRRJ in Bedford.

Anderson and Bryant were part of the on-going narcotics investigation at Liberty Apartments in October 2007.

Also arrested on warrants on January 31, 2008 were Andre Lewis Hall, age 22, on one count of distribution of cocaine and Quincy Dionne, age 33, on one count of distribution of cocaine. Both are out on bond.
