Sheriff Brown Announces Recent Promotions

BEDFORD, VA - Sheriff Brown is pleased to announce the following promotions within his agency which are all effective as of March 1, 2008;

• Corporal Chris Wimmer has been promoted to Sergeant of Field Operations.

• Deputy Mike Abbott has been promoted to Corporal of Field Operations.

The following have been approved to make lateral transfers within the agency:

• Deputy Tom Witt will transfer to the Courthouse Security unit.

• Deputy Jonathan Jackson will transfer to Community Services Division and serve as a School Resource Officer.

• Deputy Juette Renalds will transfer to Field Operations.

Congratulations to the two newly assigned Special Investigations/Narcotics Unit officers that will remain anonymous due to security issues.
