Sheriff Mike Brown Re-elected to Board of Directors
National White Collar Crime Center
Richmond, VA – The National White
Collar Crime Center, NW3C for short, recently announced results of their
2009 election for their organization.
Bedford County Sheriff Mike Brown has again been re-elected as Director
of the Southeast Region.
Sheriff Brown and BCSO first became active members of the NW3C in 2000
and Brown was invited to run for Board Director in 2005. Sheriff Brown
was re-elected in 2007 and now again for the 2009 and 2010 term.
The mission of the NW3C is to provide a nationwide support system for
agencies involved in the prevention, investigation and prosecution of
economic and high-tech crimes and to support and partner with other
appropriate entities in addressing homeland security initiatives, as
they relate to economic and high-tech crimes.
In 2004, Sheriff Brown was awarded the NW3C annual "Member Agency Award
for Excellence" which recognizes accomplishments by an agency that
contributes to both the success of the agency and the National White
Collar Crime Center.
Sheriff Brown and his agency were cited for their success in combating
economic and cyber crimes against children.
NW3C has supported state and local enforcement efforts for over 28
years. Membership to the NW3C totals over 2,000 organizations and is a
national program with a presence in all 50 states.
